That dog resembles some of my students after Daylight Savings Time.

I’m pleased that I was able to capture that look. Sorry to hear that you had to experience it firsthand though, Leanne!

Did you think much about what time to set the clock? I’m curious as to how long a single panel like this takes.

Great question, Clay. I do enjoy sneaking little extras into stuff that I do, but I must admit that there was no extra thought given to the time on the clock here. It was completely arbitrary. Did the time on the clock have special significance for you? (Now I’m the curious one!) That would be such a cool coincidence if it did.

Panels like this usually take me from 2-4 hours to go from concept to finished art, depending on how complex the artwork is. I’m definitely not a fine artist – I just keep plodding away at it. Most of the cartoons I’ve posted so far were done years ago when I made a serious attempt to become a full-time syndicated cartoonist. There’s plenty more in the archives!

Neat stuff. So you’re sitting on a collection eh? That’s a great skill and a nice hobby. Maybe you’ll find a home for the archives in a publication someday.
No, the clock has no personal meaning. I was just thinking about after hours and wondered how someone thinks through details. I enjoy your work.

He’s not very good at math, but boy can he fetch.

around my house, it’s the animal who conducts the testing. I’m pretty sure I do not earn good grades with her.

Well put, Kristin. We have a couple of cats at our house. Your description sounds very familiar!
