Posts with the Most – Top Blog Posts Mar 2011

by Larry Hehn on April 1, 2011

postsAll I can say is “Wow”.

March was an amazing month for blog posts.

I subscribe to 60 different blogs. I read every single post. I comment on as many as I can.

And I compile the best of the best for our monthly Posts with the Most feature.

When I started this feature in January, I decided that it would be a collection of ten top blog posts from all the posts I have read that month.

Well, by the end of March I had compiled a “short list” of 33 posts.

Yikes! You bloggers are just too darn good.

It was all I could do to whittle the list down to 18. I simply cannot bring myself to remove any of these 18 posts from the list. So, dear readers, it is my pleasure to bring you the March 2011 “Special Expanded Edition” of Posts with the Most! Enjoy!

  1. The retard in the next booth – by JC Wert. Jason hit this one out of the park. If you’ve ever used the word “retard”, you need to read this post.
  2. Confession of a Failed Parenting Moment – by Maurilio Amorim. Transparency rocks! ‘Nuff said.
  3. Dear Other Radio People: On Dealing with Crazy Christians – by Brant Hansen. Brant is an amazing communicator through both the spoken and written word. He’s one of my faves.
  4. What I Believe – at The Blogging. Mo is one of those rare dudes who can have me belly laughing and totally convicted about a deep spiritual truth at virtually the same time. This post is an example of Mo at his finest.
  5. How God Sees Us – by Trey Morgan. I like the perspective Trey offers here.
  6. Would the Real Christian Please Stand Up? – at dangerous Breeze. Kely puts thoughts into words in a way that makes me want to jump up and say, “Yeah, what HE said!”
  7. Dear Future Mark – by katdish. Odds are pretty good that you’ll find a katdish post in every edition of Posts with the Most. There’s a reason why they call her an “Internet Tornado”!
  8. “Daddy, Stay Home and Play” – by David Rupert. David is very insightful and always gets me thinking. Parents of young children will especially appreciate this one.
  9. Simplicity of Love – at Musings of a Bible College Drop-Out. Fellow Canadian Elizabeth Birak shares some great thoughts here. “All you need is…”
  10. because I want to – by Duane Scott. Out of a very painful situation came this very moving post.
  11. As They Walk Along – by Matt Cannon. What can I say – Matt rocks. He has both an extra warped sense of humor and a more serious, poetic side that take turns posting. I like ’em both.
  12. The Big Banana… how big, is big? – at I get the feeling we’ll be seeing a lot more of relative newcomer Rich Langton, who hails from Down Under!
  13. Moved With Compassion – by Tony Alicea, via Michael Perkins. I love both these guys. Subscribe to both their blogs. Right now.
  14. Doubting heaven – by Billy Coffey. I had four of Billy’s posts on my short list (one more than katdish!).
  15. Another Craft Disaster with Kids – by Ironic Mom. Leanne can make just about any situation hilarious. Craft time is no exception!
  16. The Divorce Experts – by Tony Alicea, via Tony Alicea. A great commentary on commitment.
  17. What the World Needs Now – by Keith Jennings. I like how Keith does his thang! Back at ya, Keith!
  18. A Clean Space – by Dunlizzie. I equated this to a modern-day Practice of the Presence of God. It will make you want to wash more dishes!

Well, there you have it. Many thanks to all who made March such a wonderful month of reading!

So honored.
I agree with you-The Retard in the Next Booth moved me. After I cleaned up my tears I ran and retold the whole story to my husband.
I noticed you didn’t post your top three, though!

Yeah, I don’t think I’ll include my top three any more in this feature. I’d like for the focus to be on all these amazing bloggers, and 18 links is plenty!

Yes, it’s a lot to wade through. Not to worry, though. I’ll give you a month to catch up before I post the next one! 😉

Great list Larry. I’ve read most of these but there were a few new finds. Thanks for the link love!

This is a great list, I’ve already read or clicked through most of them, but there are some new gems now in my linky-list

Larry Hehn April 3, 2011 at 11:36 pm

It’s always a great day when I can help add to someone’s linky-list. Thanks, Kristin!

I’ll be praying for you as you write your exams this week. Cheers!

Keri @ Pop Parables April 4, 2011 at 7:47 pm

I love how you do this list. It makes reading blogs even more intentional. But, like others have said-my Reader is totally bloated for now. 🙁

Leanne Shirtliffe (Ironic Mom) April 11, 2011 at 9:07 pm

Welcome back to the land of the living. Or the land of the online blogs. Thanks for the shout out. And do you know what? I have to lead another craft at church on May 1. Either I didn’t do a bad enough job the first time or God has a wicked sense of humour.

I search bombed ya.

Yes, what a relief! The site was down for about 88 hours, but it felt like 88 days.
It’s so nice to be back and operational…and open to more search bombs.
You’ll be sure to find the “search bomb” post in April’s Posts with the Most.
I’ll be praying for you on May 1, Leanne.
Try to avoid hot melt glue guns and two-part epoxy.

katdish April 12, 2011 at 9:34 am

I’m so honored that I’m gonna ignore the fact that Billy Coffey had more posts on the “short list” than I did. Because I’m generous like that…

Thanks, Larry. For reals.
