At the end of each year, I like to take a few days off, recharge my batteries, and spend some extra time with family and friends. This year, I’m also putting the finishing touches on a book proposal. What a perfect time to share the 10 most popular posts of the past year here at Christian in the Rough!
Surprisingly, most of the “Top 10″ were not published in 2012, so you may not have seen these in a while, if ever! Over the next few days, we will be counting down the Christian in the Rough Top 10 for 2012. Believe it or not, here’s number three…
My friend Duane Scott loves Cheetos. I can’t blame him. I’m also a fan of those wonderful bites of cheesy goodness. But Duane has taken his Cheetos obsession to new heights.
Yes, Duane launched a Cheetos poem competition.
Below you will find my first entry into the competition. Grab yourself a bowl, sit back, relax, and read away!
Just Another Poem About Cheetos by Larry Hehn
Call them corny, I don’t mind
Call them cheesy, that’s just fine
I know corn and I know cheese
Together they are sure to please
Form them into bite-size sticks
Not too thin and not too thick
Full of flavor, full of crunch
Full of goodness, fun to munch
Call them Cheetos, that’s their name
Join me in this rhyming game
Write a poem for Duane Scott
Vie for prizes he has bought
Link it to duane-scott.net*
You will like it lots, I bet
To his blog you must subscribe
Stick around and catch the vibe
Once you’ve finished all that stuff
Visit Christian in the Rough
Play a round of Name That Toon
Hope to see you really soon!
Look how low that Larry stoops
Was that cheesy? Corny? Oops!
Shameless plugs for his own site
Make him like a Cheeto. Right?

Tim says, “that’s a cheesy poem”
I must admit I agree with Tim’s taste in poetry, Pam. Who knew that poems about Cheetos – cheesy ones at that – could be so popular?
