Posts with the Most Dec 2012Happy new year, everyone! We’re kicking off 2013 in style, with a special double feature of Posts with the Most. Today in part one, we look back and celebrate my favorite top blog posts of December 2012 from around the blogosphere.

If you aren’t subscribed to Christian in the Rough yet, now is the perfect time. You won’t want to miss part two - our amazing Best of 2012 edition – coming up in just two days!

But first, let’s have a peek at some of the blogs and bloggers who rocked in December. Here, in completely random order, are my picks:

  1. Looking for Jesus – Billy Coffey reposted this gem from last year. I liked it so much, it made the December Posts with the Most for the second year in a row.
  2. On Excuses – Michael Perkins of Dripping Jesus tells it like it is, because he truly cares. A very encouraging post from a very encouraging guy.
  3. This. – In the middle of all the holiday stress and busyness, Jamie the Very Worst Missionary discovers what Christmas is all about.
  4. rearview mirror: choose – Alece from Grit and Glory makes her PWTM debut with a thoughtful review of her year, through the lens of a single word.
  5. When the Work Will Never Be Finished – Featured in Prodigal Magazine, Shawn Smucker encourages us to persist in the things that truly matter.

Be sure to join us for our next post, featuring the best of Posts with the Most for 2012. As always, I’d love for you to share some of your favorite top blog posts here. Let’s keep sharing and encouraging!

I love Jamie, the Very Worst Missionary! I’m going to have to check out the others. I need some encouragement for my Walk right now.

It’s here, it’s here, best day of the month! I haven’t read them all yet, but did read “This” by Jamie last month and was, as usual, stunned by truth and insight. She’s awesome.

Tell me, Larry – do you find that you’re drawn to certain posts over the course of the month because your heart is seeking answers/guidance or are these just randomly read posts? Is there a common thread – for you – or no?

Yes, Liz, I do find that there is often a common theme to the posts I pick in a month. A lot of it has to do with where my head and heart are at the time. Some posts will always resonate with me, while others are more timely. I never pick a post strictly because I think someone else will like it. It must touch me first. Otherwise I feel that I’m being insincere with my endorsement. I hope and pray that the posts I pick resonate with the Christian in the Rough community as much as they have with me, though I’m sure some will more than others.
